Cedric-Grondin Award

In memory of Cedric Grondin
1984-2003

It is with great sadness that we were made aware of the passing of Cedric Grondin, a young curling competitor diagnosed with lukemia.  At only 18 years of age, he sucommed to his illness on the 25th of June 2003. Cedric Grondin participated as skip for the Mauricie team at 3 Provincial Championships and was a member of the Laviolette Curling Club. Cedric was passionate about curling and always dreamed of becoming one of the best curlers within the province.

A model of perseverance and tenacity, Cedric had dreams that Curling Quebec wish to commemorate.

The Cedric-Grondin Award is given during the Junior Provincial Championship to a competitor that demonsrtates above all others, the aptitudes of perseverance, intensity of play and tenacity... All characterisitics that represent who Cedric was.

The award is determined by competitors and coaches participating in the Junior Provincial Championship via a popular vote.
