 03/11/2006 - A new start for the Curling Quebec’s Merits Gala
The 5th edition of Curling Quebec’s Merits Gala will be presented in a new format. Curling Quebec’s Board of Directors is proud to announce that a day of recognition of curling artisans will be held Saturday February 10th 2007 at le Colisée Cardin in Sorel-Tracy during the Men’s Provincial Championships.
For the occasion the winners of the different categories will be unveiled and presented to the crowd. The winners will receive their prizes in the center of the Colisée and will enjoy a full day of competition and meet the Canadian Champions, the team of Jean-Michel Ménard.
Curling Quebec wants to thank the Casino de Charlevoix organization for their collaboration with the first 4 years of the Gala. Also, we would like to thank the organizing Committee of the 81st annual Men’s Provincial Championships for their help with this year’s Gala.
The nomination forms are now available. Here are the categories open for nomination:
- Curling club of the year
- Male curler of the year (club-level)
- Female curler of the year (club-level)
- Team of the year (club-level) - Event of the year
- Junior Programme of the year
- Monitor-Instructor of the year
- Ice Technician of the year
- Volunteer of the year
- François-Béliveau Journalism Award
Also, Curling Quebec will recognize the following categories:
- Official of the year
- Athlete of the year (excellence)
- Team of the year (excellence)
- Coach of the year (excellence)
- Special tribute
